Chernobyl Children’s Project International Inc., (CCPI) is a Not- For- Profit 501(c)3 organization based in New York, New York. Our work was featured in the Academy Award winning film, Chernobyl Heart.

We provide community-level development programs, and humanitarian and medical aid programs, designed to offer hope to the youngest and most vulnerable victims of the Chernobyl disaster – the children. We serve children without respect to race, religion, or sex.

We agree with experts who emphasize that when dealing with the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster, we must understand a complex interplay of medical, social, economic and environmental factors.

Our goal is to work with the people of Belarus to help them overcome the domino effect of poverty, poor health, and social, and psychosocial impact that was the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. We promote the development of medical, community and humanitarian aid programs that will increase self-sufficiency and permanent change in the region. Through our partnerships with governmental agencies, and medical facilities, and communities in the region, we encourage joint solutions and permanent solutions.

Chernobyl Children's Project International of Ireland, our affiliate, has an excellent 14-year track record of delivering over $55 million in aid, 40 new ambulances and providing rest, recuperation and medical treatment for over 11,000 children.

CCPI’s mission is to leverage CCPI Ireland’s established volunteer network, to tap into US expertise and resources, to work on the community level in Belarus, and to partner with established organizations to meet long term and immediate humanitarian needs of the forgotten children of Belarus.
